Maxipac Pumping Station
Application
MAXIPAC underground sewage and waste water pump stations to serve housing estates, blocks of flats and other large commercial developments.
Description
The MAXIPAC range of fully automatic, pre-assembled underground sewage and waste water packaged pumping stations are used to collect, store and pump waste from housing estates, large blocks of flats and other substantial commercial developments where there is insufficient elevation for the drainage system to empty by gravity into the main sewer. The pumping station packages are suitable for installing either at the initial building stage or during development of an existing site.
The package comprises:
- An extensive range of tough GRP horizontal or vertical cylindrical tanks
- Two high quality, leading brand pedestal/guide-rail mounted pumps selected to suit the application
- All rigid pipe work is in galvanised steel or ductile iron
- Cast iron ball check valves with inspection cover
- Central control panel with full operation indicators, audible alarm, volt-free contacts, battery back-up and GSM modem based telemetry
The pumping station will be sized to meet the requirements of the 2001 Building Regulations which call for 24 hours storage capacity. The pump will be selected to suit the site and duty, for sewage pumping vortex pumps are used wherever possible but should the lift or pumping distance be substantial it may become more appropriate to use a grinder pump. For waste water a channel pump may be preferable. Our experience with underground pump stations has guided us towards carefully selected components so as to ensure the reliability and longevity of the product.
The pumping station package comprises:
- A GRP storage tank with 5 tonne galvanised steel, lockable access cover, optional heavy duty covers are available.
- Duty and standby, guide-rail mounted pumps selected specifically for the application. Grinder pumps, 80mm, 100mm and 150mm pumps are used, the selection being determined by the application and system hydraulics. The pumps are mounted on quick coupling pedestals with guide rails.
- Heavy duty galvanised steel or ductile iron pipe work is used throughout. This is terminated at the delivery from the pump station with an appropriately sized PN16 flange for connect directly to the rising main.
- Cast iron ball check valves, designed specifically for laden water in accordance with The Building Regulations.
- One or two heavy duty delivery isolation valves.
- A Form 2 or Form 4 control panel built in accordance with IEE Regulations with individual Hand/Off/Auto switches and run/fail indicators for each pump, a high level alarm with battery back-up and float switches or level probes as required to control the pumps and trigger the high level alarm.
- Rigid spigot or flanged nozzles to accept the incoming drainage pipe work.
- Optional – External valve box to house check and isolation valves and optional flushing valves.
- Optional – Pumpac Auto-agitate automatic flushing system which uses timer controlled motorised valves to feed pressurised sewage to nozzles installed close to the base/sump of the in the storage tank. This nozzles are set up to agitate sewage settling in the bottom of the storage tank so as to prevent its gradual build up.
- Optional – GSM Modem telemetry system.
- Optional - Dry pump chamber with pumps drawing through internal tank bulkhead.
