Application

The MICROPAC range of economic underground sewage and waste water pump stations for small dwellings, extensions, pool houses and similar.

Description

The MICROPAC range of automatic underground sewage and waste water pump stations are used to collect, store and pump waste from where there is insufficient elevation for the drainage system to empty by gravity into the main sewer or drain. These stations are suitable for installing either at the initial building stage or for retro-fitting to modified buildings.
  • Tough polyethylene pump chamber
  • Free-standing vortex, channel or grinder pump(s) to suit application
  • Cast iron ball check valve designed for laden water
  • Galvanised steel pipework
  • Simple quick connection to permit removal of pump for maintenance
  • No external control panel required

The pump station will be sized to meet the requirements of the 2001 Building Regulations which call for 24 hours storage capacity. The pump will be selected to suit the site and duty, wherever possible domestic vortex pumps are used for sewage but should the lift or pumping distance be substantial it may become more appropriate to use a grinder pump. For waste water a domestic channel pump may be preferable. Our experience with underground pump stations has guided us towards carefully selected components so as to ensure the reliability and longevity of the product.

The package comprises:
  1. A robust, durable High Density Polyethylene storage tank with pedestrian access cover.
  2. A free standing pump selected specifically for the application. Grinder pumps and 50mm domestic vortex/channel pumps are used, the selection being determined by the application and system hydraulics.
  3. Heavy duty, ribbed pump delivery hose with robust Kamlock quick connecter which allows a pump to be removed from the fixed pipe work in the storage tank (one per pump).
  4. A cast iron ball check valve, designed specifically for laden water in accordance with The Building Regulations (one per pump).
  5. A delivery isolation valve.
  6. Galvanised iron pipe work terminated at the delivery from the pump station with a 50mm or 63mm PE compression fitting for connection directly to the rising main.
  7. A 4” rubber grommet which is cut into the storage tank on site at a position to accept the incoming 100mm drainage pipe (extra grommets are available on request).
  8. Optional – A high level alarm with battery back-up.
