Minipac
Application
The MINIPAC, a simple, robust and reliable economy packaged pump station designed specifically for single dwellings or similar.
Description
The MINIPAC uses a free-standing pump and galvanised pipework with a strong flexible connection pipe installed in an appropriately sized polyethylene chamber.
- A range of tough, one-piece moulded high density polyethylene tanks
- One or two high quality, well-proven free-standing pumps from a leading brand manufacturer, selected to suit the application
- All rigid pipe work is in galvanised steel/iron
- Cast iron ball check valves with inspection cover
- 5 Tonne galvanised access cover as standard
Whilst being constructed from the best components available, and fitted with proven and dependable pumps and valves, these sets are priced to make them the preferred option when pumping sewage and /or surface water from a typical dwelling or small commercial development.
They are commonly used on small housing developments where shared ownership of a central pump station can create management and ownership complications for developer and owner alike. More often than not, on developments of up to five properties it is more economical to use individual Minipacs rather than the larger Midipac commercial pump station, particularly when taking into account the management advantages and flexibility on offer.
The pump station will be sized to meet the requirements of the 2001 Building Regulations which call for 24 hours storage capacity. The pump will be selected to suit the site and duty, for sewage pumping vortex pumps are used wherever possible but should the lift or pumping distance be substantial it may become more appropriate to use a grinder pump. For waste water a channel pump may be preferable. Our years of experience with underground pump stations has guided us towards carefully selected components so as to ensure the reliability and longevity of the product.
The package comprises:
- A robust, durable High Density Polyethylene storage tank with 5 tonne galvanised steel, lockable access cover.
- One or two free standing pumps from Grundfos, Lowara, Pedrollo or Saer selected specifically for the application. Grinder pumps, 50mm and 80mm pumps are used, the selection being determined by the application and system hydraulics.
- Heavy duty, ribbed pump delivery hose with robust Kamlock quick connecter which allows a pump to be removed from the fixed pipe work in the storage tank (one per pump).
- A cast iron ball check valve, designed specifically for laden water in accordance with The Building Regulations (one per pump).
- A delivery isolation valve.
- Galvanised iron pipe work terminated at the delivery from the pump station with a 50mm, 63mm or 90mm PE compression fitting for connection directly to the rising main.
- A 4” rubber grommet which is cut into the storage tank on site at a position to accept the incoming 100mm drainage pipe (extra 4” or 6” grommets are available on request).
- Optional – A high level alarm with battery back-up.
- Optional - A control panel built in accordance with IEE Regulations with individual Hand/Off/Auto switches and run/fail indicators for each pump, a high level alarm and optional battery back-up. Most Minipac pump stations only require a control panel if three phase pumps are used.
