PBSE Booster Sets
Application
Using sophisticated pumps with motor mounted inverters, PBSE boosters are designed for commercial applications where space and cost are key.
Description
The PBSE range of booster sets has been designed for use in small to medium sized building services applications. They use pumps with motor mounted inverters and a choice of control panels combining energy efficiency and simple operational control with practical mechanical design.
- Energy efficient variable speed pump control
- 2, 3 & 4 pump options, 2 to 15 l/sec
- Bespoke arrangements to suit site
- High quality components throughout
- Tough, durable and practical to maintain
- Two control panel options
- Stainless steel or upvc pipework
- Optional soft-start following power failure
The Pumpac PBSE range of quality assured cold water booster sets has been designed for use in small to medium sized commercial building services applications where space and cost are key. PBSE boosters use pumps with motor mounted inverters and a choice of two control panels, a simple isolator panel with the necessary circuit protection to meet regulations and a small degree of central operational control and BMS reporting, or an alternative panel with individual pump ON/OFF switches, pump fault indicators and more extensive BMS reporting.
Typically Grundfos CRE/CME pumps with integral motor mounted inverters or Lowara SV pumps with motor mounted Hydrovars are plumbed with AISI 304 stainless steel pipework as standard, uPVC, ABS and copper pipework are options.
The pumps are mounted on compact, folded galvanized steel skids. Standard arrangements exist but where necessary pipework and panel orientations are adapted to suit existing/planned services and the space available on site. All components are readily accessible for maintenance with the plumbing designed to enable removal or replacement of pumps and valves whilst the booster set remains operational.
All Pumpac booster sets can be supplied with a combined break tank positioned over the unit to reduce the overall footprint of the water supply equipment, and significantly reduce installation costs. Combination units come fully fitted and tested requiring plumbing only to the tank inlet valve and from the booster set delivery isolation valve. Pumpac will size the tank if required and can deliver, disassemble and re-assemble on site if access is an issue. The insulated WRAS
Approved GRP tanks range from 90 to 7000 litres capacity and can be supplied as one-or two piece units to further aid access (See Pumpac Combination Units).
All PBSE booster sets are designed to meet the requirements of The Water Regulations. Pumps, valves, pressure vessels and/or all materials in contact with water are WRAS Approved.
The booster set comprises:
- Between 2 and 4 pumps with motor-mounted inverters, each with 4-20mA pressure transducer, mounted on a folded galvanised steel skid.
- Option1 – A basic 1 or 3 phase connection panel built to IEE Regulations providing circuit protection, main isolator, low water level cut-out as a minimum. Low water level and individual pump fault BMS connections optional
- Option2 – An advanced 1 or 3 phase control panel built to IEE Regulations with door-interlocked isolator, individual Hand/Off/Auto switches, individual pump fault indicators and BMS volt-free contacts, a low level cut-out and BMS volt-free contacts.
- ANSI 304 Stainless steel manifolds as standard.
- Individual pump suction and delivery isolation valves and soft-seating spring loaded check valves.
- Pump delivery elbows to facilitate removal of a pump or valve without the need to disable the remainder of the booster set.
- One manifold mounted accumulator with inlet isolation valve for each pump, sized to suit the application, as standard.
- Delivery manifold pressure gauge and isolation valve.
- Anti-vibration mountings as standard.
- All pre-wired and fully wet-tested prior to despatch.
Booster set Options include:
- Alternative pipework and control panel arrangements to suit the site circumstances.
- Fully wet-tested combination units incorporating break/storage tank to reduce both the overall water supply equipment footprint and the overall costs (See Pumpac Combination Units).
- Skid mounted 60, 100 or 200 litre accumulators.
- Bypass system on skid mounted accumulators to ensure flow through the vessel in Legionella high risk applications such as hospitals and surgeries.
- Basic or Advanced control panels described above.
- Soft-start after power failure, an Advanced control panel option only.
- GSM Modem fault reporting, an Advanced control panel option only.
- AISI 316 pipework and pumps, impact resistant PVC or ABS pipework, copper pipework on sets with up to 2” dia manifolds.
